Sun sets behind the SS Palo Alto, a concrete ship built for wartime use as a tanker, as a gull flies overhead.  World War 1 ended before ship construction was finished.  It was purchased in 1929 and brought to Seacliff Beach, Aptos, CA where it was used as an amusement center for two seasons.  The ship’s remains continue to be an important historical point of interest.
